There are some places it seems you just can’t do a thing with and I have one of those places along side our chain link fence. I have tried for the last five years to plant everything from trees and shrubs to all kinds of flowers and vines. It either looks terrible and scraggly or doesn’t grow at all. So this spring I bought a set of pot holders that you would normally clamp onto a deck rail. The people I bought them from helped me figure out a way to hook them onto the chain link fence so I could place flower pots on the fence itself to give it some color and I love it!
I have had several people make comments about how clever it was to hang pots from the fence. One of them was hung low in order to plant English ivy and it has grown up along the fence in great style. I actually bought some more just the other day to hang pots on the front of the chain link fence as well. It’s not so much that nothing works there it’s just that I like the look. Now I am working on some window boxes on our front window sills and can’t wait to see the finished product!
